A special technique is Dip-Dying seen used in a pair of blue derby casual shoes. Normally, in the shoe making process, leather is tanned before the shoe is made or the components are cut. Whereas, these shoes are cut, stitched and then tanned to a specific colour by dipping the whole shoe in vats of polishes and tanning colours before the sole is attached to the shoe. This gives the shoe a rustic and unique finish.
