Anil Wadhwa, His Excellency, The Ambassador of India to Thailand says, “The Incredible India week in which the Royal Fables was a key attraction is an attempt to bring the best of India to the Thai people, be it textiles, costumes, handicraft  or travel destinations. I am sure visitors to the Exhibition were left mesmerized by the rich diversity of Indian culture and what’s on display.”

Scions of the erstwhile Royal Families of India showcased their merchandise at the venue for the discerning Thai public. With a variety of products ranging from hand dyed ombre saarees to contemporized miniature art home products, the Royal Fables delegation presented a spectrum of ways they have used to simplify complex traditional design vocabularies into modern items.

Says Princess Diya Kumari of Jaipur, “We have been part of Royal Fables since its inception and can vouch for the immense growth it has witnessed. It is a wonderful concept that has made it possible for people to come together from all over India and present the rich royal design legacies they have inherited.”

Welcoming the delegation, Chadatip Chutrakul, CEO of Siam Paragon Shopping Center said, “Siam Paragon takes great pride in representing Thailand in this pre-eminent cultural exchange.  It has been our great honour to welcome the members of Indian royal families and to appreciate their dedication to preserve precious heritages of their nation.  Siam Paragon is one of Bangkok’s most prestigious public venues and we believe it will serve as the perfect platform to bring the richness of India to the Thai public and tourists alike.”

This is the maiden international chapter for the unique heritage fete that has been taking the country by storm since 2010, when Royal Fables was founded. With a successful launch at DLF Emporio and its biggest season at The Imperial, New Delhi last year, there seems to be no limit on the horizon for the show.

Anshu Khanna, Founder, Royal Fables adds, “Bangkok and India have always shared a craft heritage. Both nations respect their past and cherish it in the present. Royal Fables is an exhibition that takes the royal legacy of India forward through its design and we are happy to showcase this brilliant platform as part of the great India promotion week.”
