Winners of the  First IoT-Ideathon Announced

vlsiCardiac Design Labs adjudged the Best IoT Start-Up

 

Bangalore, January 7, 2015: – The First IoT-Ideathon concludes in Bangalore with 25 exciting ideas being entered to address issues including Vaccine Monitoring, Haptic Feedback for Physically Challenged and Smart Street Lighting.

The winners were of the IoT Ideathon :

1st Place :             Mosquito Density Sensing & Alarm (Yogesh Singh , Vinay Joshi , Praveen Rathee – All from IIT Bombay)

2nd Place :            Automation for Physically Challenged (Prajwal Prabhat , Arun PC , Bharathwaj M – All from CVC Pvt Ltd)

3rd Place :            Fall Detection  (Tarang Shah , Kaustubh Nawade – All From BITS Pilani)

 

Visibility happy at the outcome, Dr. Satya Gupta, Co General Chair, VLSI Conference 2015, said, “The first IoT Ideathon was a tremendous success. There was an overwhelming response. The event has proved the ability of young Indian engineering talent to not just innovate, but also ensure the robustness of engineering and thereby create products of the highest quality for India and the world. Industry and academia must work closely to nurture such talent”

 

The prize for the Best IoT Start-Up went to Cardiac Design Labs (www.cardiacdesignlabs.com.  Commenting on the win, Mr. Anand Madanagopal, Managing Director, Cardiac Design Labs ℗ Ltd “I am happy to receive the award on behalf of Cardiac Design Labs. The distinguished panel of judges who evaluated the entries at the IoT-Ideathon constituted of senior business leaders including Mr.Srikanth Sundarajan, Venture Partner, Helion Venture Partners, Mr.Ashwani Garg, Director, Marketing Enabling Solutions, Intel India, Mr.Rohit Rathi, Co-founder, Notion Inc, Mr.Sree Kumar, Software Architect, Innomindsand Mr. Guhesh Ramanathan, Co-founder Excubator.

 

The key criteria based on which the entries were evaluated included, innovation, robust engineering, significance of the product and teamwork.
