sentosa16 JUNE 2014 – From battling new technical challenges to curating a show that reflects the demands of today’s audiences, Sentosa’s Wings of Time has stretched the limits and creativity of local and international entertainment experts. Developed as part of Sentosa’s on-going efforts to refresh its attractions, Wings of Time is Sentosa’s latest signature night performance. “Sentosa’s iconic night attractions have always been a key highlight of the island experience. Guests cherish fond memories of Sentosa’s Musical Fountains even after many years, and Songs of the Sea remained consistently popular over its seven-year run. The stakes have gotten higher than ever today, as we see an increasingly well-travelled audience, locals and tourists alike, that appreciates high-value and unique entertainment experiences”, said Sam Lee, Director, Island Business, Sentosa Leisure Management.

ECA2, an established French events company which developed high-profile international shows and events including Sentosa’s Songs of the Sea, produced Wings of Time. A team of 150 professionals were brought together to overcome technical and audience engagement challenges – both of which are critical to the show’s success. “We are developing a night extravaganza designed to awe audiences every single day. That is first and foremost a technical challenge to take into account the sea water, heat and humidity. The second is the challenge of creating an immersive experience with a wow factor, and that comes from the music, story and choreography of effects and talents” said Jean-Christophe Canizares, ECA2’s Chief Executive Officer.

As Singapore and the world counts down to the first show of Wings of Time, audiences can look forward to an epic experiential fusion of the latest multimedia effects, from robotic water fountains to pyrotechnics, a timeless storyline of courage and adventure, and an engaging and interactive pre-show segment. Wings of Time tells an exciting tale of two teenagers, Rachel and Felix, who help a bird-like creature, Shahbaz, find its way home through time and space.

Sam Lee noted that, “Wings of Time is Singapore’s very own night spectacular, bringing our locals an inspiring multi-sensory treat, and sharing with the world the best of what Singapore has today. We hope that everyone in Singapore can come and enjoy the show”. Jean-Christophe Canizares added, “We hope that Wings of Time can touch the hearts of our audiences, as they immerse themselves in the journey with Felix, Rachel and Shahbaz. If each person brings home that magical experience, it would be perfect”.

Wings of Time will be a ticketed performance, with daily shows at 7.40pm and 8.40pm along Siloso Beach. Premium seats are available at S$23 per person, while standard seats are at S$18 (standard rate), and S$15 (for local residents).
