Wellness Expo 2016, organised by The Bengal Chamber

On 20th February, 2016, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised the “Wellness Expo” 2016 at the City Centre I, Kund Area, Salt Lake, Kolkata.

_DSC9118 2The “Wellness Expo” was inaugurated by Dr. Alok Roy, Chairman, Medica Superspeciality Hospital & Immediate Past President, BCC&I along with Special Guest Dr. Rupali Basu, CEO, Apollo Gleneagles Hospital. 

Altogether twenty-one hospitals have participated in this Wellness Expo from around the city. The participating Hospitals are Columbia Asia, Apollo Hospitals, Woodlands, Medica Super speciality, B M Birla, Cordlife, Lifecell, Emami FrankRoss.in, among others. This expo will be held for 20th and 21st February 2016, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., at City Centre I, Kund Area, Salt Lake, Kolkata.

According to Mr. Subhodip Ghosh, Director General Designate, BCC&I, “Our Wellness Expo will showcase different aspects of wellness and lifestyle and will also have free health check-up stalls. It is an event that people may consider as one-stop-shop where they will get an authentic assessment of their health needs as well as information on all health related queries. The Expo is held for the common citizens and aims to generate health awareness in society.”

The Chamber’s initiative in Health and Wellness exposition dates back to 2003 and it has organized very successful and relevant health expositions. The first edition of BCC&I Health and Wellbeing Show in 2003 had an iconic launch and was immensely successful. Though the issues in the realm of Health and Wellness is the basic theme of the show yet each year the show has featured new concepts, new practices and fresh ideas. In this space, the Bengal Chamber has always pledged to take forward the objective of having an affordable, accessible, sustainable and high quality “Health for All’.

_DSC9128 5The Bengal Chamber’s Health Committee has been playing an important role in addressing the critical aspects in the field of healthcare in the State and has been catalytic in bringing about significant corporate consciousness in healthcare management. It has organized Health Expositions, quizzes, Panel Discussions and Lectures on Health issues by leading and iconic personalities in health from the fraternities of doctors, entrepreneurs and policymakers.
