Dubai, UAE, 9 February, 2015: Bangladesh has become the latest country to turn to the UAE for vital assistance to develop a national infrastructure for motor sport.

A team from the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE has just returned from Dhaka after conducting a three-day training programme on behalf of the Automobile Association of Bangladesh (AAB).

The team of specialists from the ATCUAE’s training and education division, the Motorsport Knowledge Institute, instructed officials on key aspects of rally organisation and other grass roots motor sport activities.

“Motor sport is in the early stages of development in Bangladesh and we’re delivering training which will help the AAB build a solid infrastructure for the organisation and staging of events, with a big emphasis on safety,” said ATCUAE President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

“It says a lot for the UAE’s own achievements in motor sport, and for the Club’s growing stratus in this area, that training methods and programmes developed here are in such great demand.”

Over the last two years the ATCUAE has provided training for 25 other national motor sport authorities across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and South America, with programmes delivered in six languages.

Last month an MKI training team visited Tanzania to provide vital guidance to the national motor sport authority in its efforts to establish karting in the country.

Training has also been carried out in Africa for the national motor sport authorities of Algeria, Egypt, Sudan and Botswana, as well as for the Confederation of African Motorsport Clubs.

Two months ago the MKI carried out live, on-the-job training for a team of motor sport officials from Morocco during the 2014 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit.

The MKI was set up to deliver motor sport training worldwide after the ATCUAE was awarded Regional Training Provider status by the FIA Institute in December 2012.
