Le Dupleix
Le Dupleix, Pondicherry is among the 3 best boutique hotels in India. Le Dupleix, named after the last governor of Pondicherry, is a celebration of the best of French architecture in Pondicherry. When the Governor’s house was razed down, Dilip Kapur, Founder and President Hidesign, was able to save a large part of the wood work which has been re-installed in Le Dupleix. With the help of INTACH, an architect friend, sculptor and textile expert, Dilip was able to restore the woodwork to its former glory. The heritage property was then converted into a hotel.
