Three Questions: Anjan Sengupta, on the Economy the day after the Elections

Anjan_PassportAnjan Sengupta is an Economics Graduate from St Xavier’s College Kolkata. He went to Fordham University on a 100% Presidential Scholarship and completed his MA (Economics) and MBA from Fordham University. He came back to India and worked in various financial organizations and banks (Ceat Finance, Crisil, HDFC Bank) and became India Head of Standard & Poors. Currently he is with First Climate (India) a German MNC, looking after World Bank funded green initiatives in both India and LDCs in Asia.  His response:

Q1.      What according to you should be the top three priorities for the next Government?

A1:

 i) macroeconomics and industrial revival.

ii) revamp of internal and external security, and

iii) administrative and police reforms

Q2.      When do you see India coming out of the current economic limbo?

.A2: 3rd quarter 2015

Q3.      On a scale of 1 to 10, how hopeful are you that the 2014 elections will mark the beginning of the Indian Economic Resurgence?

A3: 7
