This Winter in Paris – Spotlight on the Christmas Shopping event

Organized by the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Christmas Shopping event celebrates lifestyle in the French capital with unprecedented advantages.

From the end of November and throughout the month of December, the streets, squares and shop windows of the French capital are illuminated and decked out in seasonal decorations. Also known as the City of Light, Paris is especially so at this time of year.

The Christmas Shopping event, initiated by the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, plays a part in the magic of the festive season. From 1 December and throughout the month, the Bureau presents visitors with the Paris City Passport Shopping 2012, a card giving reductions of 10 % in 70 or so renowned 70 shops. Nominative and valid for 3 consecutive days, it is usually given free of charge to customers who have spent more than €80 on tourist products. For the Christmas Shopping event, it will be offered for free, without any minimum purchase requirement, at all the Bureau’s tourist information points. This card is the key to accessing a wide choice of shops at lower prices (ready to wear, jewellery, cosmetics, souvenirs, gastronomic products, wine, etc.). An array of leading brands are offered to visitors: Aigle, Georges Rech, Franck et Fils, Nina Ricci, Bodum, La Bagagerie, Grand Optical, Marionnaud, Maty, L’Occitane en Provence, etc.

And the icing on the cake, the Bureau is offering a concierge service. For every order made online on the website parisinfo.com between 1 and 15 December 2012, visitors staying at a hotel will benefit from free delivery of their purchases (allow a waiting period of 4 working days between the order and delivery).

Since 2006, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau has organized themed promotional events each year to make the capital of romance an increasingly attractive destination for French and international visitors. These events boost arrivals to the city in what is traditionally the low season for tourism. They are supported by the City of Paris and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with Atout France promoting them internationally.
