The Resource Alliance announces the finalists of the India NGO Awards 2012/13

resorce allianceNew Delhi. August 2nd 2013:     The Resource Alliance India released today the list of finalists competing for the India NGO Awards 2012/13. Regarded as the most coveted award in the social sector, the India NGO Awards is a unique, national competition that aims to celebrate and reward the best non-governmental and non-profit organizations who have demonstrated best practices in creative & successful resource mobilization, financial management, governance and impact on the community. The India NGO Awards now in their seventh year is organized by the Resource Alliance and jointly supported by the Rockefeller Foundation and EdelGive Foundation.

Over 270 NGOs from all over the country competed in three different categories based on their annual budget, Action for Autism, National Centre for Autism; New Delhi has been selected as one the finalists for India NGO Award 2012/13 under the annual budget of under Rs. 1crore by the Resource Alliance for their tremendous work in the field of Autism.

Surat Sandhu, Chair, the Resource Alliance India said, “NGOs in India are doing an exemplary job and this award was instituted to give them the much needed recognition that they so truly deserve. It’s indeed heartening to see that NGO’s have made a tremendous impact in bringing about tangible benefits to their target communities. However, it’s essential that NGOs are equipped with the strategy; skills and knowledge that will help them build fundraising capacities and improve long-term financial sustainability. How to raise funds and remain sustainable is a dilemma faced by most Indian NGOs today. This is where Resource Alliance steps in as a trusted intermediary”.

In total 13 NGOs have been selected as finalist and they  will be profiled in a casebook and film, which will be disseminated at the Awards ceremony and through the Resource Alliance website and other social media and will also be offered 10 days of one to one mentoring to strengthen their internal system and processes
