SOUTH KOREAN DESIGNER TO SNAP UP MARKET SHARE FOR SUNGLASSES IN MIDDLE EAST

South East Asian companies boost presence at Vision-X to bid for global business prospects

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: A uniquely patented clip-on sunglasses frame manufactured to replace the one-size-fits-all counterpart will be showcased at an upcoming Dubai exhibition for the first time later this month, promising to balance fashion, function and price.

South Korean company, TARA Eyewear design and manufacture Snap Shades, and will are set to springboard their product into the Middle Eastern market at the 18th edition of Vision-X, the largest exhibition for eyecare and eyewear professionals in the region, which takes place from 17-19 October 2017 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Sado Park CEO of TARA Eyewear said, “The Snap Shades are a patented clip-type eyewear that magnetically snaps on to the glasses frame, latches on the nose bridge, and covers the entire top of your glasses frame, making a seamless transition from glasses to sunglasses.

“Our goal was to manufacture a product that provides the best alternative for using prescription sunglasses or contact lenses. With prescription sunglasses, there are always two pairs of frames you have to worry about, as well as the high costs, and with contact lenses you run the risk of irritating your eyes.

“Snap Shades allow you to wear sunglasses and glasses at the same time without compromising fashion, function, or price.”

TARA Eyewear are one of several new South East Asian companies exhibiting at Vision-X 2017, showcasing the latest fashion in frame design and eyewear, as well as launching new products into the Middle Eastern market.

Asma Alsharif, Exhibition Director for Vision-X said: “There has been substantial growth in the participation from South East Asia this year, especially those from South Korean. Compared to 2016’s event, we’ve witnessed a growth in South Korean exhibitor space of 22% and a 30% increase in participating companies.

“With Dubai’s position as a hub city for global business and commerce, there are unique opportunities that companies from all over the world can tap into. Trade shows such as Vision-X provide a great environment for like-minded individuals and businesses to explore these opportunities.”

In addition to the 80 exhibitors on the show floor, Vision-X will host the Opticare Conference, a three-day summit for experts in the fields of ophthalmology, optometry and paediatrics to discuss the latest medical and technological trends, and developments in their respective fields of practice.

Joining as the exhibition and conference knowledge partner, Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, the first overseas branch of Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, the oldest eye hospital in the world, will lend their wealth of expertise to the show and deliver exclusive keynote presentations on key industry-related topics such as advances in glaucoma management, refractive surgery, and differential diagnosis of red eye.

Highlighting the latest technology and techniques for delegates, a series of contact lens workshops at the end of each day will provide opticians with an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience that will earn them CPD points for their practices.

Attracting more than 4,000 buyers from over 70 countries, Vision-X will showcase many of the latest brands with dedicated areas such as the Future in Focus and Retail Theatre for business owners and managers to improve their operations.
