A new laying head technology upgrade recently developed by Siemens Metals Technologies extends pipe life to record levels in long rolling mills running at speeds of 100 meters per second. Thanks to a novel proprietary material, up to 130,000 tons of rod can be rolled without pipe changes, resulting in significantly fewer production interruptions. |
