ROUND TABLE INDIA TAARE ZAMEEN PAR – THE DAY STARS CAME OUT TO PLAY & PAINT

Kolkata, 14, November, 2015: The competition for budding artists in the city hosted by 12 tables from Kolkata and initiated by Kolkata Victorian Round Table 227, a part of ROUND TABLE INDIA was held at Swabhumi from 9 am to 2 pm on November 14th 2015. The event comprised of a sit & draws competition followed by group art & craft work, face painting & tattoo making, music and games for children, activity time followed by prize distribution & lunch.

More than 2000 children participated from 40 schools & NGOs such as Rajabazaar Boys & Girls School, Tiljala Shed, FOCUS, UBDA, Abha Mission, Calcutta Rescue, RISE, Ankur High School, Anondo School, Home Hope Happiness (HoHoHa), Gandhi Vidyalaya, Dakshini Prayas, Kalyani Foundation, The Shell, Bharani and many more NGOs and underprivileged schools including a group of children from Specially Abled Schools like Mentaid, Manovikas Kendra & Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy.

Talking about the initiative, Sahil Saharia, Chairman, Kolkata Victorian Round Table 227, says, “This is an inclusive event with children from all Schools & NGOs with an idea to nurture talent and creativity at a equal platform.”

The competition was based on the theme of Creativity & Abstract Art. The competition was for three age groups i.e. Age upto 6 yrs, 7 years to 12 years and 12 years above.

To send a message to keep our environment and city clean Round Table India took the step of supporting our Honourable Prime Minister’s noble initiative of Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan. All the children who are the future of our Country along with the invited Guests, organisers took the oath to keep our environment and our City Clean.

The presence of Corporate Leaders and their families at the event, such as Mr. & Mrs. Kanoria of SREI, Mr. & Mrs. Bhajanka of Century Ply & Star Cements, Mr. Ravindra Chamaria of Infinity, Mr. & Mrs. Shitanshu Jhunjhunwala of Turtle, Mr. & Mrs. Ganesh Singhania of Four Square Housing, Mr. & Mrs. Poddar of Limtex, Mr. & Mrs. Sunil Jha of Shristi Infrastructure and many more assured that such events would be supported by the Business World year after year.

Apart from Art festival for these kids Kolkata Victorian have planned a few more entertainment programmes for the day. Plain White Canvases were kept at the venue for the corporate and the media to express their thoughts towards these kids.

There was a kids carnival for these kids so that they can enjoy and cherish the day. The kids will also released Gas Balloons as a tribute to Former President of India – A P J Abdul Kalam, in a unique way.

Leading Tollywood Star Ms. Raima Sen was present for the Entertaining the kids along with DJ Dippy (Joypreet Bindra), renowned choreographer Adi Sharmistha from Jhalak Dilkhlaja & Dance India Dance fame and singer Avishek from Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Sony TV X Factor and Chak de fame, who made them dance to the latest Bollywood Tunes. They voluntarily came forward to be a part of this Event and spend their day with these kids.

Singer Arijit Singh gave a surprise visit to the event and interacted with the kids on their enjoyment.

Kolkata Victorian Round Table 227 will be laying the Foundation Stone of their first school for the less fortunate kids – Netaji Pally Free Primary School at Madhyamgram, Barasaat on November 15, 2015 at 9 AM. The school will be having 5 class rooms with capacity of 200 kids with built up area of approx 2,500 sq ft, in the first phase. The cost for building the same will about Rs. 20 lacs and it will be completed by March 2016.
