REPL Rural Water Scheme for the rural areas of MP

repl

REPL one of the leading Consultancy firm gets awarded for Rural Water Scheme Project by the Madhya Pradesh Government. The DPRs project is prepared for Group water supply schemes for villages and towns of proposed districts of MP.

What is the Issue:

Most of the villages of Madhya Pradesh have scarcity of portable water and ground water is depleting very fast, Water quality is also a concerning point. Presently shallow water consumption (through an individual and public hand pumps) dries in summers and the water supplied isnot potable up to the prescribed standards. So this method ensures equal distribution and restricts excessive exploitation of ground water.

REPL’s  Scope of work:

1.)REPL will prepare Population Forecast guidelines through different methods for calculating the water requirement for villages and towns. These guidelines shall be prepared under the National Rural Drinking water Programme (NRDWP), Ministry of Rural Development, Drinking Water and Sanitation,GOMP.

2.) REPL will carry out all a detailed topographical survey report to access village distribution system. The survey will surface important details which are required for make an accurate design plan.

3.) REPL will further prepare all Hydraulic designs of all components i.e. Storage reservoir, Intake well, Economical size of pumping mains, Design of Raw & Clear water pumps and pump houses, Design of Electric sub stations, Hydraulic design of conveyance main with appurtenances, Structural design of pillars, thrust blocks etc.

4.) Preparation of detailed coloured/B&W computerized drawings such as of Index map
showing area under consideration along with major proposed works, Schematic diagram, Detailed village map showing existing and proposed works along with main features of villages, drawing of Intake well cum pump house, Water treatment plant, Break pressure tank, OHT’s, Pump houses, Pillars, Thrust block, L-section with plan of conveyance mains and distribution system.

5.) Preparation of detailed quantity and abstract estimates, report and CPM network for
execution like Intake well cum pump house & approach bridge/road, Raw & Clear water pumps, Electric sub stations, Conveyance mains (pumping/gravity) with appurtenances, Pillars, Thrust block etc., Treatment Plant, Break Pressure tank, Distribution systems, Over Head Tanks / Cisterns, Pump houses, Staff quarters, Approach roads & Other components of DPR, Land acquisition, Operation and Maintenance Estimate along with proposal of revenue generation, Writing technical report, Preparation of CPM/Pert Chart, Compilation of Design, Drawing, Estimates etc. & submission of 10 copies of DPR along with soft copies.

Mr. Rajnish Kumar Sinha AGM (Engineering) REPL says: The main area of our focus is to help the villages within Madhya Pradesh receive uninterrupted water supply. Our projects are majorly aimed at enabling the people of the region to overcome their water supply hindances. Overall in MP region, we are working on 5 projects each aspiring towards the upliftment of this state. Out of the 5, we are ready with 3 projects and the remaining 2 will be completed end of March 2014.

The state of groundwater quality in India is a critical health issue since wells are drilled deeper in pursuit of the falling water table. The water which is extracted frequently displays higher levels of arsenic, fluoride, and other harmful chemicals. The attendant health effects have been well documented throughout India particularly in poorer rural communities where there is no alternative for drinking water.

Groundwater in India is a critical resource and India is the largest user of groundwater in the world. Water scarcity is widely recognized as one of the major challenges to India’s economic and social development. The combination of these climatic conditions with a range of man-made pressures has driven India’s farmers, households, and industry to increasingly depend on groundwater rather than surface water in rivers and lakes. But this dependence is leading to a rapid and very worrying deterioration in the nation’s groundwater resources.

Keeping the situation in mind, REPL envisions to provide safe and sustainable tap drinking water to communities by utilizing surface water resources and to provide sustainable treatment.
