Prof. (Er.) Jayanta Kumar Ghosh of IIT Roorkee conferred with ISRS (Indian Society for Remote Sensing) National Geospatial Award for Excellence-2017 (Life Time Achievement Award)

ISRS (Indian Society for Remote Sensing), the most renowned society in the area of space science/remote sensing/ geo-spatial technology in India, felicitated Prof. (Er.) Jayanta Kumar Ghosh, Civil Engineering Department, IIT Roorkee with the National Geospatial Award for Excellence-2017 (Life Time Achievement Award).

The award was conferred on 5^th December 2018 to Prof. J. K. Ghosh at SAC (Space Application Centre) Ahmedabad for his outstanding contributions to the development of geo-spatial science and applications. The award contained a citation, a medal and Rs. 1,00,000.

Speaking on this special occasion, Prof. J. K. Ghosh said that “ this Award is an acknowledgement of scientific contributions and I am glad that the members of Award Committee have liked and acknowledged my work towards development of geo-spatial systems and applications. I sincerely feel that, whatever honor has been conferred upon me is an honor to all, whose benevolence, guidance and assistance helped me to grow up as I am now”.
