Prathishedhakkotta: Ramesh Chennithala to display 1 crore signature collected against central and state governments

In times when the clamour for referendum to recall elected Governments has been gaining strength, the prime opposition in the State of Kerala United Democratic Front, has come up with a unique signature campaign to expose the widespread resentment against the Central and State Governments.

The one of its kind signature campaign led by senior Congress leader and  Leader of opposition in Kerala, Sri Ramesh Chennithala has amassed a whopping 1,08,43,450 signatures of protest against the incumbent central and State Governments. The signature campaign was run in tandem with the 1 month long political March, namely “Padayorukkam”(battle preparation) which garnered unprecedented support from across the length and breadth of the state was inaugurated by Congress President Sri Rahul Gandhi

These signatures mark the resentment of the common man against the anti-people policies of the Central and State Governments including Goods and Service Tax (GST), Demonetization, poor handling of law and order, petrol price rise among others.

This campaign is considered to be the biggest political signature drive in India, and has featured one third of the state population. The campaign involved personal house visits by party volunteers for collecting the signatures at the lowest booth level. Volunteers from 24000 booths have collected at least 500 signatures each from people to amass 1 crore signatures.

The one of its kind campaign also abides to green protocol with only cotton cloths and sketch pen used for inking the signatures. The cloths from 24000 both are stitched together by a team of 100 tailors to a length of 70 Kilo meters making it the longest and largest signature campaign in the Country.

The historic signature campaign which registered protest of a third of Kerala’s population, against the anti-people Central and State Governments is being displayed as “Prathishedakkotta.

The one of its kind signature campaign that has amassed a whopping 1,08,43,450 signatures of protest against the incumbent central and State Governments.

The 70 Km long banner containing these signatures will be showcased on Feb 6,2018 along national highway stretch between Trivandrum and Kollam districts. The banner will be held by a chain of 2000 party workers for a short span for 3 mins to avoid traffic congestion in the city.
