PMC’s India Office Evolving from a Single Hotel Room to More Than 80,000 Square Feet Mirrors Significance of Team’s Contributions to Era of Big Data
BANGALORE, INDIA, February 5, 2015 – PMC-Sierra, Inc. (PMC®) (Nasdaq:PMCS), the semiconductor and software solutions innovator transforming networks that connect, move and store big data, today announced that the Company is celebrating its tenth anniversary in India.
PMC’s India office was established in 2005 in a single hotel room by Vikram Labhe, now PMC India’s managing director. PMC India has grown from a single employee to now supporting approximately 300 employees and contractors in more than 80,000 square feet of office, lab, data center and R&D space in two campus locations in Bangalore.
PMC India has created and maintains a complete ecosystem. It contains approximately 25 percent of PMC’s overall engineering staff, along with the Company’s largest data center to support international operations. The office also supports university relations, design services, and works with numerous CAD tool vendors, along with recruiting and HR, customer relations and other services for its customers and employees.

PMC’s executive team also plays an ongoing role in shaping the future of India’s electronics manufacturing industry, with ongoing membership on the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) Executive Council, and by participating in critical industry events, including the recent IESA Vision Summit in Bengaluru February 2-3, 2015.
