New Senior Vice President Sales at LKAB
Peter Schmid, MSc., currently President of the LKAB subsidiary LKAB Wassara AB, has been appointed Senior Vice President Sales for the LKAB Group and will be stationed at LKAB’s head office in Luleå, Sweden. He will assume his new position in 1 August 2013.
LKAB’s sales and marketing unit has offices in, among other locations, Luleå, Essen, Brussels and Singapore, and will open a new office in Dubai during autumn 2013.
Before joining the LKAB Group in autumn 2011, Peter Schmid was business area manager at water-technology company Xylem Inc.(formerly ITT Flygt), where he headed the group’s dewatering division and was a member of group management.

LKAB Wassara AB develops and manufactures a unique water-powered hammer drill for a number of different market segments worldwide. Peter’s principal task within LKAB Wassara has been to build an organization and a platform for international growth.
“I’m a marketer at heart,” says Peter, who has an MSc in engineering, with specialization in industrial and international marketing. “I look forward to the challenge of working with LKAB’s products on the world market,” commented Peter Schmid.
Peter Schmid, who is 55 years of age, was born in Sandviken, Sweden. He is married and has three children.
