~ 65 leading eminent schools of Kolkata participated in the principal’s meet
July 24, 2018: Oxford University Press, the world’s largest university press, today organised a principal’s meet in Kolkata to discuss the “Importance of 21st Century Skills in School Education”. A total of 65 schools participated in the session led by Dr Manisha Priyam that focused on ways to exemplify and embed 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration and creativity and innovation in teaching methodologies.
“To educate teachers on 21st century skills in education, we need to cultivate and maintain the student’s interest in the material by showing the knowledge implementation in the real world. We should try to increase student’s interest, which will help them become lifelong learners”, said Dr. Manisha Priyam, Associate Professor, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration.
The meet attracted participation from various eminent schools such as The Heritage, St Augustine (Kolkata), Albany Hall, Shri Shikshayatan, Mahadebi Birla World Academy, Stepping Stone School Hooghly, Agrasain Boys School (Howrah), Aditya Academy, Adamas International, St Stephen’s School, etc.
Dr Manisha Priyam has a doctorate from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), in International Development, and works in the area of policy reforms in education and urban social protection. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Educational Policy, National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA).
