Over 250 teenagers win NEXT-GENIUS Olympiad 2015 scholarships

NEXT-GENIUS Olympiad, India’s first online Olympiad for students in Grade 9 – 12 announced the winners of the first NEXT-GENIUS Olympiad 2015 on November 15, 2015 in Mumbai. The awards ceremony was led by Neeraj Mandhana, leading career counselor and founder of NEXT-GENIUS Olympiad and special invitees, President of Wheaton College USA (Norton, MA), Dr. Dennis Hanno, a leading entrepreneurship guru in the US and Dean of Admissions at Wheaton College, Grant Gosselin.

Entire Team Three WInners Wheaton ScholarshipThis year, over 17,600 students participated in the critical thinking Olympiad from over 1080 schools across India. After careful statistical analysis of their test performance, webcam data and personal interviews, the NEXT-GENIUS Olympiad team finally awarded 250 students merit scholarships worth a total of Rs. 2.5 crore along with official certificate of their All-India-Percentile.

In particular, Anoushka Agarwal of Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai won a 100% scholarship to pursue her undergraduate studies at Wheaton College USA, Arjun Choudhary Army Public School Pune won a 100% scholarship to study the IBDP program at Carlsbad International School in Prague, Czech Republic in Europe and Shraavan Prahlad of Podar International School Kalyan who will attend the Great Books Summer Program at University of Oxford on a 100% scholarship.

Speaking at the ceremony Director, NEXT-GENIUS Olympiad, Mr. Naveen Mandhana, congratulated the winners for having made the stride and said, “I am delighted to see such a strong display of intellect and critical thinking by the 17,600 teens who participated in our Olympiad this year. My heartiest Congratulations to the winners. I would also like to thank all the 1080 participating School Principals and Olympiad coordinators for bringing this unparalleled opportunity to bright students at your school.

NEXT-GENIUS Olympiad conducts a range of online tests which assess critical thinking, vocabulary and financial acumen in Grade 9 to12 students, with an objective to discover highly gifted students at a young age.

Critical Thinking is the ability to think logically and to make informed & well-thought out decisions. In contrast to tests at school, which assess understanding and memory of subject knowledge, Next-Genius Olympiad test was built to discover the logical reasoning ability of the students.
