Nestlé India celebrates International Chef’s Day to educate adolescents about healthy cooking at home

As part of our commitment to Nutrition, Health and Wellness, on the occasion of International Chef Day, Nestlé India organized healthy cooking workshops for adolescents from marginalised communities in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. As part of these workshops, over 250 adolescents who are part of the Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme interacted with chefs to learn about the benefits of a variety of foods and create healthy recipes, helping turn them into ‘Healthy Heroes’.

Nestlé India believes that proper nutrition, adequate physical activity, good dietary habits and an active lifestyle are integral to maintaining good health. The objective of this activity was to encourage adolescents to consume a wider variety of foods by engaging them in the recipe preparation and making it fun and exciting.

Mr. Sanjay Khajuria, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Nestlé India Ltd. said “For this year’s International Chef’s Day, the theme is ‘Foods for healthy heroes’. With the input from Chefs, education and help, we wanted to use this opportunity to teach adolescents about healthy eating by letting them be creative with food. We believe good nutrition and creating awareness is the cornerstone for health and development. The Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme forms part of our commitment to improve nutrition through the promotion of greater awareness and understanding of balanced diet that needs to be accompanied with an active lifestyle.”

Special Events were held in:
