One of a kind inter-orphanage art, literary, cultural festival!
500 children from various Shelter Homes participated in arts, literary, cultural competitions on 16 th June, 2019 at Loreto Day School, Bowbazar, Kolkata.
Nakshatra is the platform which Bhumi provides to the underprivileged children helping them to enhance their inner talents and discover the singer and dancer in them.
Nakshatra is Bhumi’s annual national talent festival in arts and sports for children from orphanages.
This flagship event has already gained a lot of success in Bengaluru, Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune & Kolkata.
Bhumi organised 2nd edition of Nakshatra , an Inter Orphanage Talent Festival on June 16, 2019 at the premises of Loreto Day School- Bowbazar.
About 500 children from various shelter homes namely Loreto Rainbow Homes, Tiljala Shed, Calcutta Social Project, SOS Children’s Village, Calcutta Rescue, Saujatya Home for boys and Samaritan Help Mission participated in multiple activities zoned into three categories – Arts, Literary
and Cultural. The activities included pot painting, paper modelling, quiz, writing stories, recitation, singing, solo and group dancing. About 150 volunteers hosted and executed the event.
Our prominent judges who took out time from their busy schedule to be with kids were Amzed Hossein, Shib Kumar, Soumya Jyoti Sen, Trijoy Deb, Debargha Deb, Debraj Roy, I N Shyamoshree and Pauline Laravoire.
Our Partners who came forward to support this event were Winkies, Sanmarg, Kellog’s, Keventer,Flurys, 91.9 Friends FM and Robinhood Army.
Bhumi is one of India’s largest independent volunteer non-profit organisations which provides comprehensive educational support for over 20,000 underprivileged children across India to become
better citizens of tomorrow.
