Kolkata, July 2013: A First Class Postgraduate in Journalism from the University of Calcutta and a Commerce Graduate from the St. Xavier’s College, Prof Chatterjee has been the Principal of NSHM Institute of Media & Communication (NIMC) for the past six years. An eminent Journalist, he served the Media Industry in different responsible positions for over two decades in Print, News Agency and Television. Widely travelled, Prof Chatterjee has covered important Political and Sports events, in the country and abroad. He has also been a packager with the BBC Bengali Service and a popular compere and news reader with All India Radio, Doordarshan and other private channels.
Important positions held in the Media Industry included – Input Editor : ETV Network, Editorial Coordinator-East :BSTV, Chief Of Bureau: TVI Network and Senior Correspondent :United News Of India (UNI).Prof Chatterjee has been in Media Education for the past decade, being a Visiting Faculty, Paper Setter and External Examiner of five Universities and a number of Premier Media Institutions across the country. He is also the Consultant-Director of M/s Touchstone Media—A PR and Media Consultant firm.
