To further consolidate its presence in the Chinese security products industry, Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd has established a subsidiary in Shenzhen to better promote its safety and security portfolio and offer expanded services for the mainland Chinese market.

The new company, Messe Frankfurt New Era Advertising (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, began operating on 1 September 2013, with a complement of over 40 employees to represent Messe Frankfurt New Era in mainland China.

“For Messe Frankfurt, the founding of this new company is an important strategic step in the development of our international business. Our portfolio of 11 events is already the world’s most important in the trade fair sector for security technology. Establishing the subsidiary in Shenzhen is a logical component in the consolidation and expansion of our activities in this sector in China“, says Mr Wolfgang Marzin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Messe Frankfurt.

Expansion will greatly benefit Messe Frankfurt’s customers and the industry as a whole

The establishment of the Shenzhen subsidiary gives Messe Frankfurt New Era a greater presence in the fast-growing Chinese market, and will benefit Messe Frankfurt’s customers in the security sector greatly, believes Mr Stephan Buurma, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding Ltd. “We are excited about the opportunities of this deal as it now allows us to serve our customers in the Chinese security industry directly. It means our stakeholders, and the industry as a whole, can be benefit from the wide range of products Messe Frankfurt New Era offers.”

With over 20 years of experience, Messe Frankfurt New Era is acknowledged as a well-known and trusted partner for the security industry. Its portfolio includes printed publications, trade fairs, events, and online information platforms. Publications include 12 security magazines with quality editorial coverage and industry analysis in seven different languages, including ‘Automation and Security (a&s)’. Security trade fairs and events, under the Secutech brand, are held in four major cities in Asia, while websites, an e-magazine and mobile app round out the entire Messe Frankfurt New Era portfolio.

Messe Frankfurt New Era, which has its office in Taipei, was created through the acquisition of the Taiwanese a&s Group in 2009. The subsidiary is responsible for the strategic development of Messe Frankfurt’s safety and security portfolio in Asia including the Secutech trade fairs.

“For Messe Frankfurt, this integration completes the path we started on four years ago to increase our presence in the security industry in Asia and beyond, and reinforces the importance we place on this industry in China,” Mr Buurma said. “This deal also expands Messe Frankfurt’s offerings and provides us with greater expertise in the publishing industry which we can use to benefit our customers across all sectors, not just in security.”
