mCommerce redefines the way we will buy in the future.

mpowaTrade via mobile will be one of the advances that we see at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that began yesterday under the theme “Redefining Mobile”.

The GSMA Mobile World Congress 2013 started yesterday in Barcelona and will run until 28 February under the theme “Redefining Mobile” in the Gran Via exhibition centre, , the Montjuic Exhibition Centre, with a spectacular 67,000 spectators increasing last years attendance. The event will have 1739 exhibitors confirmed the organiser and will be covered by more than 3,300 media. The event will provide Barcelona with revenue of over 300 million euros as well as the indirect income related to transport, catering and accommodation.

The App Planet will be in Hall 8.1 and more than 200 different applications that will provide exhibitors with one of the great attractions of the event along with the technological innovations that occur each year. The evolution of technology on display will allow even greater facilitation of mCommerce.

mCommerce has come about having used these constant technological advances that provide users constant access to the Internet through their mobile phone to promote commerce on the move. Companies like British company mPowa offer a mobile payment service that allows any SME, self-employed or large company to have a point of sale via anyone that owns a Smartphone.

mPowa’s payment system works by inserting a credit card into a card reader which communicates with the mobile device through Bluetooth, allowing people to accept payments instantly. This type of service will increase the productivity and convenience of businesses and will help to further increase the use of smartphones created by Google, Apple, Samsung or Nokia.

According to statements by Dan Wagner, president of mPowa: “Companies with more vision have understood that mobile commerce is not an alternative to the traditional trade but actually is the future of commerce. With the growing ubiquity of smartphones and Mobile Internet services, it is likely that in many countries the number of users of mobile phones and tablets with Internet access will soon overtake the PC and laptop users. People from all over the world choose, increasingly, the payment to the mobile to shop anywhere, wherever they are, through their phones or tablets. This offers traders, and also those involved in this trade, such as banks or telephone companies, access to millions of potential new customers and millions of potential new operations worldwide. “

About mPowa (www.mpowa.com)

mPowa is a point of sale device that enables credit and debit card payments to be made on the go. It consists of a mobile phone app for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows or Blackberry devices, and a card reader. This can be either a magnetic stripe reader (MSR) which can be plugged into the phone’s headphone socket or a Chip & PIN device. It is the first service of its kind in the UK.

mPowa was created by multi award-winning serial entrepreneur Dan Wagner. Dan set up mPowa as the mobile off-shoot of his ecommerce and web publishing platform for small businesses called Powa Technologies.
