New Delhi March 30, 2016 : Within  three months of starting  its commercial journey in India, LeEco took its first philanthropic  step by making a significant contribution towards the nutritional support of children by  providing mid-day meals,  a basic necessity that helps them in their schooling.

LeEco employees today handed over a cheque to Akshaya Patra to support their endeavour to feed over a million children, who have the zeal to learn and the potential to contribute to India’s social and economic development.  This initiative was not merely a cash donation , but witnessed active employee participation who volunteered to be part of this meal initiative  on LeEco Day.

With this gesture, the internet technology conglomerate fulfils a commitment it made on LeEco Day on Feb 25, to support a mid-day meal for two children for every Le Superphone sold. The mission of The Akshaya Patra Foundation is to reach 5 million children by 2020 and LeEco hopes to continue its association to help them cross this goal.

The phenomenal success of LeEco Day with its bounty of benefits and offers worth Rs. 8 crores, has been touted as one of the largest and most attractive shopping carnivals organized by a smartphone brand .  The association with Akshaya Patra is an acknowledging of the love and admiration it has received in India by generously returning a part of the LeEco Day’s proceeds back to the society.

Though LeEco entered the Indian market recently, its Le 1s  has  become consumers’ favourite in a short span of time. It   continues  to be a highly “sought-after” phone on Flipkart, evident from the records the Superphone has broken since its launch in mid-January.  Stunning design, best-in-class technology, compelling features, first of its kind content integration – all of this makes Le1s a leader in its segment .
