October 25, 2015

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) construction sector continues its upward trajectory and maintains its position as the Middle East’s largest construction market with SR. 11.25 trillion worth of planned projects to commence by 2020. An expanding population of young citizens, growth in religious tourism, and demand for better infrastructure in sectors such as housing, healthcare, education and transport will continue to fuel an industry forecasted to grow 7.8 per cent between 2015 and 2019.

To complement this momentum and offer local as well as regional industry with a wide range of building solutions, Saudi Build 2015 will kick off tomorrow (Monday, October 26, 2015) at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. Running until October 29, 2015, the latest edition of the country’s largest business-to-business (B2B) construction show will be held under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Abdullatif Bin Abdulmalik Al AlShaikh, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs.

The 27th edition of the International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition will provide a dedicated avenue for international manufacturers and exporters to leverage numerous opportunities in the KSA’s construction market. It will also be a platform for importers and industry professionals from across the region to source the latest products, technology and services for their projects, get current market insights and future outlooks, and network with local and regional industry leaders. The show will throw the spotlight on Building Materials and Equipments; Architectural Finishing Products; Stone Marble and Granite Products; Construction Tools and technology; Emerging Services; Infrastructure Materials; and Security and Safety, among others.

An official spokesperson from REC said: “The KSA is in the midst of a construction boom with a series of nation-wide building activities underway. Aside from government initiatives to build utility and social infrastructure, the public sector has also shown a keen interest in the country’s development which has complemented the growth of the construction industry. In fact, the government’s budget for 2015 earmarks a total of SR. 859.87 billion for boosting long-term non-oil development. In this backdrop, Saudi Build offers a tailor-made platform for professionals from the construction and allied industries to get a first-hand experience of new advances in building and construction.”

Approved by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition industry, Saudi Build 2015 will be held concurrently with Saudi Stone-Tech 2015 – the 18th International Stone and Stone Technology Exhibition, and the Saudi Build PMV Series – the 6th International Exhibition for Construction Equipment, Plant, Machinery and Vehicles. The event will provide contractors, real estate developers and building owners with a full range of building solutions.
