Munich, May 20, 2013) At the Chinaplas trade fair held from May 20 to May 23 in Guangzhou, KraussMaffei Berstorff is presenting itself as system provider for the Chinese market (Hall 5.1, Booth J41). With the launch of the KM-TRK 250 cutter unit (manufactured locally in China), the company completes its product portfolio of pipe extrusion systems. KraussMaffei Berstorff is also presenting solutions for flexible profile extrusion and cost-effective compounding.
Locally produced cutter unit from the Performance series rounds out the product line
Starting immediately, KraussMaffei Berstorff now offers complete plant systems, locally manufactured in China, for producing PO pipes. The swarf-free KM-TRK 250 cutter unit, suitable for diameter range up to 250 mm, rounds out the product portfolio for the Chinese market. “All downstream units necessary for pipe extrusion systems, including vacuum tanks, spray baths, saws, haul-offs and winders, are locally produced at the Haiyan location. We have therefore become the system provider for pipe extrusion systems in China. They can now be offered with a diameter of up to 1200 mm,” enthused Harald Schweitzer, member of the Managing Board of the KraussMaffei Group in China. “For our customers in China, we offer process technology expertise for the highest standards of total production line concepts, designed to meet the corresponding requirements of the local market,” explained Schweitzer. Since starting up its production facility in Haiyan more than six years ago, KraussMaffei Berstorff has become the leading provider in China of extruders, pipe heads and extrusion systems for manufacturing pipes and profiles. The Performance series machines produced there serve the constantly increasing demand for local systems.
Conical coextruder uses recyclate in profile extrusion
The conical twin-screw extruder KMD 40 KK/P from the Performance series is a prime example of cost-competitive and flexible profile extrusion. “The trend toward processing recyclate is rising globally, including in China. Our model is perfectly suited for utilizing a thin outer layer of new material, while the main extruder uses cost-effective, highly filled material or recyclate. It can be integrated in an existing system at any time; the customer is therefore able to convert its system very quickly and with low investment costs,” said Schweitzer. The exhibit is configured as a stand-alone version; a conventional control system guarantees independent operation from the main extruder without control integration. The extremely flexibly designed extruder impresses with its excellent price-performance ratio, made possible because it is manufactured locally from components from international companies.
Tried-and-tested, high-performance technology with innovative details
KraussMaffei Berstorff additionally presents the versatile and cost-effective twin-screw extruder ZE 25 A x 42 D UTXi.
With the laboratory extruder, KraussMaffei Berstorff features a cost-effective and versatile machine design for laboratory applications, formula development and production tasks with 3 – 125 kg/h throughput. The design principle is based on proven KraussMaffei Berstorff standards with innovative details, including, for example: high wear-resistance, short changeover times and easy operability.
High compounding performance for standard products
With the twin-screw extruder ZE 62 x 48 D Basic, KraussMaffei Berstorff brings a machine particularly well-suited for standard compounding tasks to Chinaplas 2013. Among these tasks are, for example: plasticizing and alloying of synthetic material, incorporation of reinforcing materials and mineral filling materials or of natural fibers, and masterbatch production. Thanks to the high degree of standardization of the individual assemblies, the ZE Basic offers an extraordinary price/performance ratio.
