Smt. Sunanda Mukherjee, Chairperson of West Bengal’s Women’s Commission was the Chief Guest for the gala evening, while the Guest of Honor was the Regional Director (East) and Competent Authority of ASI, Dr. Phanikanta Mishra. iLEAD’S Chairperson Mr. Pradip Chopra gave a welcome speech where he focused largely on the importance of education. “The greatest gift that one can have for oneself is nothing but education”, he said. Together with the guests and trustees of PS Group, a total of 23 teachers were felicitated by them who belonged to reputed schools in Kolkata and excelled in the field of teaching vernacular. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred to Mr. Bhagwandas Ahirwar, a rare example before parents who raised all his five children to become Ph.D degree holders. His son, Dr. Mukesh Ahirwar accompanied him and was present during the event.

The program began with a wonderful welcome dance that was choreographed by the expert, MousumiRoy and presented by students of iLEAD. It reflected the true ethos and culture of our nation via four dance forms (odissi, baul, kathak and kirtan).  Alternating with Convocation ceremonies of BBA, B.Sc and M.Sc in Media Science batches, the event showcased dance, drama, fashion show and varied other performances, both from students and employees of iLEAD.  Aside the ‘Best Attendance’ and ‘Best Performance’ awards that followed every Convocation, the ‘Best Contributors in Co-Curricular Activities’ came at the end, with Jatin Agarwal (BBA) and Shubham Paul (B.Sc. in Media Science) as the recipients. The most awaited award- ‘Student of the Year’ was conferred to the immensely popular and much- loved ChandanSahoo (BBA).

The musical performance at the end from students was a tribute to their seniors, which got many teary-eyed. The act was rightly followed by a stupendous performance by the band ‘Ohm’, with two of iLEAD’s own employees, Arkaprava Chattopadhyay on guitar and AvijitHalder on vocals keeping the audience hooked to their seats. They were accompanied by fellow band mates, Anjan Mitra on bass and Samrat Bhattacharjee on drums.

The Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Development (iLEAD) completed six years of its journey and is currently a name to reckon with in the education sector. This time the event was of a grand scale and surpassed the expectations of many. “In the midst of deadlines and reports, each one of us gave our very best and we are happy it turned out to be a huge success”, said one of the employees of iLEAD.

The day came to an end after the Vote of Thanks by iLEAD’s Executive Director, Ms. Pragya Chopra and the usual photo sessions.
