IDC Asia/Pacific Announces Winners of Its Telecom Service Provider Innovation Awards 2014

idcSingapore and Hong Kong, November 11, 2014 – IDC has announced the winners of its Telecom Service Provider Innovation (TSPI) Awards 2014.

Three Asian telecom service providers were recognized for their business foresight at IDC’s annual Asia/Pacific Telecom Summit, held in Singapore.

Submissions were scored according to the following key criteria: Effectiveness of implementations; angle of “innovation”; business advantages; impact on customers; market take-up; and response to market needs.

The projects and the winners were selected by a panel of independent industry practitioners, and IDC Asia Pacific Telecom and 4 Pillars’ Practice Leads.

The TSPI Awards was established to assess how well-prepared the region’s telecom service providers are in competing and leading the future service provider marketplace and recognize how they have leveraged innovation to achieve specific business objectives, including driving competitive differentiation, launch new products and services, and gain access to new markets and segments.

The following telecom service providers impressed the judges with their abilities to differentiate themselves in the marketplace with innovative new solutions and have leveraged technologies internally or through strategic partnerships to compete more effectively:

  • Bharti Airtel
  • NTT Communications
  • Telkom Indonesia

“This year’s submissions were incredibly competitive which underscores how service providers are changing their business models and channel strategy,” says Dustin Kehoe, Program Director, Telecommunications, IDC Asia/Pacific.

“The result was carriers targeting new markets in different ways, building more robust back-end platforms and finding new market adjacencies as an extension to their core business. We congratulate all three recipients of the IDC Telecom Service Provider Innovation Awards for 2014.”
