HGS recognized as Best Champion Employer under DDU-GKY by Ministry of Rural Development, Govt of India

Bangalore, June 27, 2017: Hinduja Global Solutions Limited (HGS) (Listed on NSE & BSE, India) was recognized for being the Best Champion Employer for 2016-2017 under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) program by the Indian Government’s Ministry of Rural Development. HGS recruited almost 2,000 rural youth across Mysuru, Guntur, Siliguri and Durgapur under DDU-GKY, the highest number of people recruited by a corporate under this program.

The DDU-GKY program is part of the Ministry’s National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), and aims to cater to the career aspirations of rural youth and add diversity to the incomes of rural poor families. The vision is to transform poor rural youth into an economically independent and globally relevant workforce. The program has successfully skilled five lakh youth since 2014-15 till March 2017 and helped them gain employment across various industries.
