Koppert Biological Systems in the Netherlands and Oman based Hassad Agricultural Investments LLC, have signed a joint venture agreement establishing Koppert Biological Systems Oman LLC. The agreement was signed on Wednesday 22 October in the presence of H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Secretary General for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oman. The joint venture is expected to be officially established before the end of the year.
The joint venture company aims to transfer knowledge and technology into Oman with a vision to encourage sustainable farming practices and disseminate a culture of safe farming methods that can support the food safety and food security initiatives of the Government of Oman. To that end, the company will make available Koppert products and services to Oman based farmers to encourage these safe and sustainable farming practices.
Koppert’s advanced biological systems together with training and after sales support, come to help foster these farming practices based on an integrated pest & disease management approach, with the least possible disruption to agro-ecosystems. A totally comprehensive approach to both the crop and its environment by creating optimal soil conditions and maximizing crop resilience, combined with biological pest management solutions will lead to a substantial reduction in the use of chemical crop protection products and artificial fertilizers.
