Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), under the Ministry of HRD to offer B. Vocational (B.Voc) Programs in Apparel Manufacturing & Entrepreneurship and Fashion Design & Retailing.

Till today only diploma, advance diploma and certificate programmes were offered in vocational trainings due to which students had to face lot of difficulties in finding jobs. With the commencement of these degree courses which are approved from AICTE, students will now have better employment opportunities compared to the diploma courses. B. Voc is the new degree announced by UGC which is a judicious blend of Skill & Education components. B.Voc course is first time introduced by ATDC in Delhi-NCR. ATDC targets to educate 500 candidates through 13 ATDC centers under B.Voc courses. The duration of the course is 3 Years (6 Academic Semesters).

These courses are first of its kind and will give the international industrial exposure and ATDC has already associated with Sri Lanka, Japan and Korea. This will help the students to make them industry ready and capable for working in brands like Nike, Adidas, and Levis etc.

“B.voc course addresses the critical knowledge and skill-sets required to make the candidate “industry ready” right from the start and also make “young-entrepreneurs” in the Apparel-Retail sector. It is a set of formal education and skill components which generates more employment opportunities. B. Voc course will bridge the gap of skilled man force in apparel industry. ” said, Dr. Darliey Koshy, DG and CEO, ATDC & IAM.
