Glion Institute of Higher Education’s London Campus Now Accepting International Students

Martin HalsallNew Delhi, July 20, 2015 : Glion Institute of Higher Education, one of the world’s top three institutions of higher education for an international career in hospitality management, announced that it has begun to accept applications for its London campus from all international students. The Glion London campus, hosted by the University of Roehampton in the western part of the city, was opened in summer 2013 to students from the European Union (EU).

“We are thrilled to open our doors to all overseas students this summer, which will give our London operations an extra boost by making life on campus a truly international experience,” says Martin Halsall, campus director of Glion London. “We are especially excited to welcome students from India, where our institution has enjoyed growing recognition.”

With more than 100,000 international students, London is the most popular study abroad destination in the world. Glion is the only Swiss hospitality institution located in a British university setting and looks back on over 50 years of excellence in hospitality management education. Following the traditional Swiss model, Glion has developed a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, both campus-based and online. Glion London currently offers a BBA degree and postgraduate diplomas in Hospitality Management, and has hosted residency sessions for Glion’s exclusive online MBA programme.

Glion’s educational expertise in such an exciting study and tourism destination such as London provides unique opportunities for students who aspire to launch careers in international hospitality business management. Home to 74 five-star hotels and 54 Michelin-starred restaurants, London is a hub for luxury hospitality and gastronomy, offering students countless possibilities to gain cutting edge exposure in this fast-paced industry.

Halsall sees great potential in completing a Swiss hospitality degree in London, especially for Indian students. “With the hospitality industry recording unparalleled growth on the Indian subcontinent, the demand for specialized hospitality education is on the rise. Swiss institutions enjoy an exceptional reputation for educating future leaders in the hospitality industry, and the UK is among the most popular destinations for Indians to study abroad, surpassed only by the U.S.”

According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the total contribution of the travel and tourism industry to India’s GDP is expected to grow by more than 7% annually and reach India Rupee (INR) 16.6 trillion by 2025, while generating more than 7 million new jobs.
