G7 SUMMIT SIGNS OFF WITH MONTEGRAPPA

Montegrappa is honoured to have played a role in the 2017 G7 Summit, one of the most important events in the global diplomatic calendar. Held on 26/27 May in Taormina, Sicily, the summit focused on the global economy, foreign policy, security of citizens and environmental sustainability. It comprised the leaders of the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.

Present were US President Donald Trump, British Prime Minister Theresa May, Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, France’s President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Representing the EU were European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

Montegrappa was selected as the official writing instrument of the G7, the company providing all of the participating heads-of-state at the summit with a Montegrappa ITALIA black resin rollerball. The pen was used to sign an important document on the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

As G7 member Italy played host, it was appropriate that the pen provided by Montegrappa celebrated the country’s role. Offered as a fountain pen, roller and ballpoint, ITALIA’s clean, smooth, pearlised resin cap and barrel can be ordered in black with gold plated trim, as well as white or “azzurro” cyan blue with palladium plated trim. ITALIA was ideally suited to the occasion, with its classic and sober profile, uncluttered but enriched with Italy’s “Tricolore” resin rings on the cap’s top and above the threads that delineate the barrel and section containing the pen tip.
