Faiyaz Rashk’s latest book Fasl-e-Khayal released in the capital

New Delhi Dec 13, 2015: Arshia Publications launched the latest collection of Urdu poetry by noted Poet, Writer from Bihar Mr. Faiyaz Rashk – “Fasl – e – Khayaal – A Harvest of Imagination” amidst an evening of recitation of Ghazals, Hamds, Naats and Dohas from the book. Eminent personalities from Urdu Adab and literary world graced the occasion at India Habitat Centre. The book was released by Noted Author & Co-Founder Namita Gokhale, Dr Monazir Hassan – Former Minister & Ex Member of Parliament, Author Dr Tarannum Riyaz, Writer-Director Mr Kamlesh Kumar Kohli and Writer Mr Anis Azmi.

A Sahitya Sewa Samman awardee, Faiyaz Rashk hails from historic town of Munger in Bihar, he grew up in an extended family under the able guidance of Ustad Prof Samshad Sehar, a legendary figure of Urdu Adab and later under the guidance of Prof Mehdi Ali. An active member of Urdu Forum, Faiyaz Rashk has seen and contributed to Urdu literary movement in his hometown for over 45 years.

Dr Monazir Hassan felicitated Faiyaz Rashk and praised his contribution to Urdu Adab. Young poet & son of Faiyaz Rashk Sb, Azhar Hashmi paid a glowing tribute to his father by reciting a very moving ghazal.

Eminent Author Dr Tarannum Riyaz at the book release said, I am elated to see the effort of family members of Faiyaz Rashk to bring out the book in present form, what can be a better gift than seeing your own children trying to promote the language. I am happy to see young faces in the crowd for a book launch, the future looks bright for the literature.

Commenting on his book Faiyaz Rashk said: “Urdu zubaan has kept me going even after my retirement from Indian Railways. Fasl-e-Khayal is a vivid panorama of thoughts, belief and my poetic enthusiasm for capturing varied human emotion. Thanks to the Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb of our region that my writing found resonance with the readers and i am glad to see the younger generation carrying the baton forward.”

The book Fasl – e – Khayaal, A Harvest of Imagination is a dedicated work of Faiyaz Rashk over a period of time to present it in its present form. The book titled “Fasl – e – Khayaal” – A Harvest of Imagination, tries to fathom the fancy of every reader and speculates the imagination to delve beyond the daily ordeals of human relationship.The nature of human relations is evolutionary. It changes over time as our society adjusts to ever-changing environment. These changes can be positive or negative, and these changes have both positive and negative consequences on our lives. Faiyaz Rashk has in the instant compendium eloquently brought forth the emotive nature of humans and their relationships to help understand the real change and its effects while stressing that there are so many elements in human relationships to explore.

Writer Mr. Anis Azmi in his address said “For a writer, his book launch is an everlasting memory, I still remember my first book launch, one can’t forget that evening. Marriage anniversary and book launch are such dates that a writer can never forget. One book keeps the writer personality alive even when he is not around”.

Speaking at the book release Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Kohli said “I strongly believe that there is a treasure of talent in smaller towns and cities of India who remain unrepresented in the cultural scene of metropolitan cities.  My personal experience tells me that in towns and cities away from Delhi a lot of serious work gets done and creative people should get to interact with grass roots issues and reproduce these in their work”.

Fasl-e-Khayal is a collection of poetry that captures the poetic journey of Faiyaz Rashk. Fasl-e-Khayal is a compilation of Ghazal, Nazm, Hamd, Na’at, Doha, Tribute and Dua. The book talks about human relationship, pain, courage, politics and intolerance in society. In simple and lucid Urdu Faiyaz Rashk has captured various essence of emotion. About the Author: Faiyaz Rashk

A Sahitya Sewa Samman awardee, Faiyaz Rashk hails from historic town of Munger in Bihar. Inspired by his legendary teacher Prof. Shamshad Sehar, he showed interest in poetry at an early age. In 1969, he read his first poem in a weekly event “Bazm-e-Adab” organised by Prof. Mehdi Ali who was mentor to many budding writers in the region. Faiyaz Rashk work has been published by leading Urdu literary journals and magazines. His passion for writing and greater interest in literature inspired him in 1994 to publish his own “Folder (Leaflet) Ghazal” which continues to be in its nineteenth editions. He is an active member of Urdu Forum which is a motley group of literature lover in Munger which works towards promotion of Urdu Adab by organising poetry sessions at home and in public spaces. During his tenure at Indian Railway, he played an instrumental role in organising ‘Railway Kavi Sammelan’ for twenty years.
