Experience Excels: Senior professionals are back in demand, reports TimesJobs data

timesjobsOrganizations across the board are in an aggressive mode hiring senior talent to guide start-up passion with refined experience. Demand for senior profiles rose in double-digits (14%) even as overall online hiring reported a 2% drop, shows the latest RecruiteX report from TimesJobs

 

July 20, 2015: RecruiteX, the TimesJobs recruitment index, shows that demand for professionals with over 20 years of experience soared into double digit by nearly 14 per cent last month. There is good news for professionals with 10-15 years experience as well. Talent demand in this category revived in June 2015, registering a substantial 5 per cent jump. Demand for senior professionals had last risen in January 2015.

 

“We are seeing a start-up wave of entrepreneurial spirit gripping the country today. From the point of view of business sustenance and expansion this youthful passion, exuberance, and innovation needs to be balanced with a strong focus on common sense, street smarts and market realities. This is leading to demand at the top level with increased focus on senior profiles with niche skills. Roles at CXO positions will also be in great demand this year.” says Vivek Madhukar, COO, TimesJobs.com.
Demand for middle-level professionals also reported a 3 per cent rise while demand for entry/junior-level professionals grew by 2 per cent in June 2015, reports TimesJobs.com

IT, Telecom & Construction hiring activity up 3%

 

During June 2015, the IT, telecom and construction sectors reported a 3 per cent rise in demand, according to RecruiteX data from TimesJobs.com. Travel & Hospitality sectors also reported 2 per cent rise in overall demand.  Demand in infrastructure industry also grew by 1 per cent.

 

Demand for hospitality professionals rises by 8%

 

Among the top ten professions, demand for hospitality professionals grew by a considerable 8 per cent month-on-month, report TimesJobs.com. IT/telecom and business management/consultants/ freelance professionals all saw a bump of 6 per cent rise in demand last month.

  • Demand also grew by 2 per cent for Accounting & Finance professionals
  • Logistics/supply chain management also reported 1 per cent rise in demand

 

Chennai posts 8% jump in talent demand

 

Among the major metros, Chennai saw highest rise of nearly 8 per cent m-o-m followed by Bengaluru (7%), reported TimesJobs RecruiteX.

 

In top ten locations, Vadodara reported maximum (9%) rise in demand for talent in June 2015.  Among states, Maharashtra (except Mumbai and Pune) reported highest (13%) rise in demand.

 

  • Hyderabad saw a 7 per cent rise in demand in June 2015
  • Delhi NCR was the only metro to report drop (3%) in talent demand in the month

 

The RecruiteX Supply Index registered a 9 per cent rise in month-over-month analysis. Retail and consumer durables/FMCG industries were the significant contributors to this rise in the supply of talent.
