An Evening Hosted by Charge d’ Affaires, Austrian Embassy To celebrate the Book Launch by Shovana Traxl Narayan

An evening was hosted by The Charge d’ Affaires a.i of the Austrian EmbassyMr. Georg Zehetner.The occasion was to Celebrate the Launch of the book “Wir sind Osterrreicher: Erwin Traxl” by Shovana Traxl Narayan. 

Some of the personalities who attended the book launch were Artist Satish Gujral, Artist Naresh Kapuria, Designer Ritu Kumar ,Entrepreneur Rajinder and Pari Bagga, Former Election Commissioner Navin Chawla, Entrepreneur Parag Agarwal, Former NGMA Director Rajeev Lochan,  senior Supreme Court lawyer Ranjana Narayan, Wajahat Habibullah former Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities, Aesthetician & Cosmetologist  Bharti Taneja to name a few.

“A story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption, the book talks about the tumultuous and twisted period in which my father-in-law (born 1884, died 1975) lived in. And as the title says – Wir sind Oesterreicher (i.e. We are Austrians) – deals a lot about identity, what they were, what they are, what they became”, Says Shovana Traxl Narayan

The event started with the book Launch followed by Panel Discussion on “Identity & Nationalism. Speakers were Pavan Varma, Saeed Naqvi and Satish Jacob. The first copy of the book published by Rising Sun Publishers was presented to Veteran Artist Satish Gujral.

Ambassador Dr. Helmut Turk Noted Austrian jurist Judge at the International Tribunal for the law of the Sea says, “A remarkable epic about survival resilience and redemption … Erwin traxl did not succumb to the lure of the paid of totalitarian ideology… the book is recommend  to anyone  wishing to get to know a great human story as well as to better  understand some of the factors and  developments that  led to the catastrophic developments in  Europe  during the first half  of  the  20th  century.
