Heerbrugg, Switzerland – October 22, 2013 – ESCATEC, the EMS innovator, will be exhibiting at COMPAMED for the third year with its partner GMMI Texchem.  The latter is a leading manufacturer of complete single-use medical devices including moulded or extruded plastic components for medical use – typically disposable items such as catheters, sensors, probes, etc.

“ESCATEC has been investing heavily to build up its contract design service with a particular focus on medical products,” explained Thomas Dekorsy, General Manager of ESCATEC Switzerland.  “Medical products present one of the most challenging areas of design as people’s lives can depend on the reliability and innovation of the product.  This is where our skills and focus on quality and reliability set us apart from other contract design companies along with our completely integrated offering to customers that spans from initial design right through to manufacturing to the very highest standards.  Having just taken on the role of General Manager at ESCATEC Switzerland, I am looking forward to meeting customers at the show and seeing how we can help them with their projects.”

Dr. Frank Kubik, COO at GMMI Texchem, added, “We have been working together now for two years.  It is proving to be a great partnership delivering a much higher level of customer service and capabilities that we could have done individually.  It’s a great team.”

ESCATEC is one of the few companies in the world providing an integrated contract design and manufacturing service with certification to Class 1 and Class 2 and 2b for the manufacture of medical devices, the ISO13485 quality management standards.  The company has already manufactured many different types of medical products for customers, some of which were designed from scratch by ESCATEC’s R&D department and involved the invention and patenting of new solutions.  GMMI Texchem, also has a strong R&D department that specialises in medical materials research to find the appropriate plastic or polymer for a given application and is also certified to ISO13485.  Its state of the art manufacturing facilities in Malaysia can handle very high volume production as they include 63 plastic injection moulding machines.  The combined skill set creates a one stop shop for the design and manufacture of medical electronic devices from the initial research and design through to volume production along with the disposable parts that gather the data from patients.
