- NASSCOM awarded the winners of the NATC Hackathon on using machine learning to make India smarter
17th November, Gurgaon: The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) today hosted the 4th NASSCOM Annual Technology Conference (NATC) in the city. The 2017 edition of the megaevent was themed ‘Preparing to Disrupt’, a knowledge-sharing platform for enterprises to leverage emerging technologies and build digital enterprises of the future.
The day-long event was opened by a welcome address by Mr. R Chandrashekhar, President, NASSCOM and will conclude with a special talk by Sheelika Ravishankar from Team Indus. Over 25 speakers were on-stage, across sessions including a fireside chat on blockchain and a CTO panel on using data and machine learning algorithms to unleash intelligence at scale. Executives from Samsung, Deloitte and Cognizant delivered case studies on how their companies and clients that have driven business transformation by leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics.
“Today’s discussions have given us deep insights and real-life examples of how digitization and automation pose an opportunity, not a challenge, for enterprises in India. It has been a very productive look towards the future of Indian enterprise, and how AI and analytics can transform every aspect of business, from the algorithm economy to intelligent talent management,” said Mr. R Chandrashekhar, President, NASSCOM.
The conference also witnessed the award ceremony of the 36-hour long NATC Hackathon held in Gurgaon on the 10th & 11th of November, in which 50 teams participated from across the country to use machine learning to make India smarter. The top five winning teams represented Global Logic, SAP, IRIS, Pitney Bowes, and Fidelity International. A special session by Ms. Sheelika Ravidhankar of Team Indus, an aerospace start-up building a spacecraft to soft-land on the moon in 2018, was also held at the conference.
