During the presentation of the 2017 Michelin Guide, Swiss watchmakers Eberhard & Co., established in 1887 and celebrating its 130th anniversary next year, presented the special “Qualità nel Tempo Michelin Italia 2017” award and for the first time presented the Guide with its commemorative anniversary logo.

The latest edition, the 62nd, was unveiled yesterday and for the first time in Parma, in the heart of the “food valley” of Emilia, at the Teatro Regio and awarded a total of 343 Italian restaurants.

“It was a particular pleasure for me to start the celebrations of our 130th anniversary in collaboration with the Guide that has always been the main benchmark for the evaluation of the quality of restaurants and hotels, both nationally and internationally”, asserted Mario Peserico, Managing Director of Eberhard & Co. “Skill and craftsmanship are elements that both watchmaking and cooking have in common. This is why our company, whose philosophy is to maintain high quality standards with constant attention to style, has chosen to take part in this important event.”

For over a century, continuously and seamlessly, the timepieces of Eberhard & Co. have witnessed the history of mankind, from the distant launch of the first pocket chronograph, a long history of totally independent success, a history made up of innovation and tradition. Over time, the brand has become synonymous with precision, attention to detail and excellence.

The “Qualitànel Tempo Michelin Italia 2017” award was presented last night during the Awards Ceremony at the Teatro Farnese. A restaurant with two Michelin stars and the two brothers who are its soul were awarded a special prize in recognition of their career. They each received a Scafograf 300, a watch that recently gained international recognition at the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie in Geneva. The two timepieces were awarded to Valentino and Natale Marcattilii of the San Domenico di Imola restaurant; two brothers who, just like the mechanism of a clock, move in perfect synchronisation every day, complementing each other’s skills, one in the kitchen and the other in the front of house, to offer an extraordinary experience of impeccable taste.

“We are pleased to be able to use the finest representation of our art, our timepieces, to mark their current and future successes” concluded Mario Peserico.
