Directi and its employees chose to celebrate a slightly non-traditional Valentine’s Day this year. They decided to celebrate love in its true sense and tied up with Hamara Foundation, a Mumbai based NGO that works for street children, to organize a day full of fun, frolic and love for over 50 kids from across the city.
The event turned out to be a great success, with the children thoroughly enjoying themselves and taking inspiration for a more fruitful life. The volunteers, who were Directi employees happily took part in the initiative and spent their special day with the kids at the office premises. Several activities like drawing, craft, dance, quiz and games were planned not only to engage with the children, but also to inspire them to imbibe a new interest. The evening ended with a short inspiring talk on the importance of education and how it can help shape up a better future for them.
“The stories these little kids had to tell were literally heart breaking. They are bright children who are being deprived of not just basic necessities in life, but also the opportunities to change their life. If we can play a part in showing them the right path while bringing smiles on their faces, that’s the best way we could spend our Valentine’s Day”, said one of the volunteers.
