Kolkata, October 28, 2013: The countdown has begun for Eastern India’s largest annual Information Technology (IT) event, COMPASS 2013 –The Mega IT & Technology Fair, which would be held at the Kolkata Milan Mela Grounds (opposite Science City) from December 20 to 23rd, 2013. This was announced by Mr Pawan Jajodia, the newly-elected President of COMPASS in Kolkata.
A COMPASS 2013 – The Mega IT & Technology Fair Curtain Raiser event at The Park Hotel on October 25, 2013, was immensely successful and drew massive response from enthusiastic OEMs and Vendors who showed keen interest to participate in COMPASS 2013 – The Mega IT & Technology Fair in a big way.
“This year’s theme is ICE – INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION & ENTERTAINMENT. The thought behind ICE is that IT is no more confined to just hardware and software. It is more about next generation experiences with a new crop of gizmos and devices like smart phones, tablets, phablets, digital cameras, smart televisions, home theatres, headphones, gaming tools, CCTV & security systems and so on where there is a confluence of technology and user experience. With this theme, COMPASS celebrates the coming of a new IT era,” said Mr. Sanjay Chhajer-Chairman Exhibition Committee, COMPASS 2013- The Mega IT & Technology Fair.
The COMPASS IT Fair, currently in its 16th year, is a much-awaited annual event of eastern region that has grown exponentially in stature over the years with active participation of top International software, hardware, entertainment and IT peripheral products & services brands.
COMPASS 2013 – The Mega IT & Technology Fair: This year, COMPASS promises to be BIGGER, BETTER and MORE ENTERTAINING. COMPASS 2013 – The Mega IT & Technology Fair has loads in store for both participants as well as visitors! The focus this year is not only on those connected to information technology directly, but also on students, faculty members and young professionals who have made IT a part of their everyday lives through mobiles, tablets, gaming, home theatres, etc.
One of the most exciting features of COMPASS 2013 – The Mega IT & Technology Fair is a mega gaming competition to get the best out of ‘the man and machine’. “We are confident that our gaming competition would draw a huge crowd of all ages and expose them to a new level of technology,”– Mr Pawan Jajodia, President – COMPASS.
A great deal of importance has been given to students this year. Plans are on to hold an inter school / college quiz to engage all the major educational institutes of eastern India. The quiz, which is an exciting add-on to the COMPASS 2013 itinerary, would be conducted by one of the best quizmasters in the country. The objective is to engage top educational institutes to become a part of this leading industry-centric platform. Students would get free entry by presenting their Identity card at the gate.
In line with the ongoing tradition, COMPASS 2013 – The Mega IT & Technology Fair shall also play host to interactive and educational seminars with engaging topics of discussion and the presence of eminent personalities of the IT world. All of this is expected to attract a huge crowd of students and young professionals at the Fair. The focus this year shall be on cloud computing and storage, virtualization and more.
