Kate Lander, CFA, has been appointed head of Education for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region at CFA Institute. Mrs Lander commenced her role on 22 July at CFA Institute in London, and she joined the organisation from Northern Trust
In her role, Mrs Lander will develop closer alliances with external business partners such as academic and industry professionals, CFA society leaders, investment practitioners and regulators; will lead university efforts and provide local intelligence that informs the organization’s global strategy. Mrs Lander will also serve as a spokesperson for the CFA Institute portfolio of educational programmes: the CFA Program ®, the CIPM ® Program, and the Claritas® Investment Certificate. She will be supported jointly by John Bowman, CFA, managing director and co-lead of Education, and Nitin Mehta, CFA, managing director of the EMEA region.

Most recently, Mrs Lander worked as a transition manager specialist, senior vice president at Northern Trust in London. Prior to this role, she was head of Fixed Income, Securities Lending at Northern Trust Global Investments; product manager, Equity Finance at JP Morgan; and product manager at Northern Trust Global Investments. Mrs Lander is a CFA charterholder and has also served as director of the CFA Program at 7City Learning and BPP Professional Education.
