Carnival Group’s AOPL Entertainment shifts focus to Telugu and Hindi Cinema due to current problems in Malayalam film industry

aopl pvt ltdKerala, May 22, 2014: Carnival Group’s AOPL (Advantage Overseas Private Limited) Entertainment is all set to reach new horizons by foraying into Telugu and Hindi cinema, shifting focus from Malayalam film industry for the time being, citing the current issues taking place in Malayalam Film industry. Carnival group will be allocating 50 crores by venturing into two projects in Hindi and Telugu Cinema which could have been invested in Malayalam cinema.

 

The basis of this shift is due to some uncertainties, which has disturbed the entire Malayalam Film industry. This will eventually affect the industry inadequately. Due to this, the industry will suffer a crisis, which will result in stalling new projects or shifting some of them to other states.

The current scenario of Malayalam film industry has seen a backlog and is going through a disturbing phase. And due to all these reasons the situation seems to be going from bad to worse as Malayalam film industry has come to a standstill with no releases lined up in coming weeks.

On this ongoing crisis, Mr Srikant Bhasi, Chairman, Carnival Group, says, Considering current scenario and sensitivity in Kerala, we will be shifting our focus from Malayalam film industry and will be diverting to Telugu and Hindi cinema. Both these industries are magnanimous and have large audiences, nationally and internationally. In adversity of Malayalam film industry currently, we have identified a great opportunity to explore and venture into other cinemas for time being. This paradigm will facilitate Carnival Group’s AOPL Entertainment to make a mark for itself by becoming a potential key player in this sphere.”
