December 21, 2015, India: BTI Payments Private Ltd, a joint venture between BANKTECH Group and ICICI Ventures, today announced the completion of 3000 installations of their India1 brand of White Label ATMs (WLA). BTI Payments is the only WLA operator to complete their installation schedule ahead of time. As per the roll-out commitment, BTI was to complete the installation of 3000 by Mar 2016.

The installation of 3000 India1 ATMs makes BTI Payments the market leader in the White Label ATM category, in terms of incremental deployment in FY16. BTI Payments has been steadfast in its commitment of reaching out to the underserved markets and living up to the brand promise of ‘easy access to one’s own money’ – with more than 90% of the installations in semi urban and rural markets. At over 1700 installations this financial year, BTI stands amongst the top 5 ATM Deployers in the banking industry. With presence in 8 states (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh), 150 districts and over 2700 villages, BTI today touches over 5 million rural customers each month.

Supporting the Central Government’s Jan Dhan Yojana program and financial inclusion drive, India1 ATM would continue to maintain its rural focus and is planning to expand to the states of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttrakhand in the last quarter of this financial year. With a strong backbone of partner network and banking relationships india1 is well positioned to achieve its target of 9000 by March 2017. With a plan to roll out over 9000 India1 ATMs by 2017, BTI Payments is taking a key step towards creating a robust rural ATM network which is critical for the success of financial inclusion initiatives of Jan Dhan Yojna, Small Banks and Payment Bank roll-out in these markers.
