India, May 01, 2015: Fabrique, a multi-disciplinary branding and design agency from the Netherlands and a part of Brand Dialogue in India, has bagged the prestigious People Vote Webby award for designing the new website for the Design Museum in London.

Fabrique is known in India for taking up challenging branding and design projects like the branding for the City of Agra. In Europe it has a formidable reputation in the online and web design space

Located on the River Thames, the Design Museum offers inspiring insights into the world of design with exhibitions on fashion, architecture, graphics, product, transport and digital design. Alongside its cutting edge programme of temporary exhibitions the museum also hosts a variety of talks and family activities. The Museum is in the process of shifting to Kensington where it will be unveiled in 2016. “The museum will be temporarily closed during the shifting process and therefore would require a good website to ensure that design enthusiasts do not lose interest in the museum and can at least take a virtual tour before the reopening of the physical museum.” The new website is more interactive and is all geared up to sustain attention of visitors.

Strategist Martijn van der Heijden from Fabrique who worked on the assignment, explains, “The Design Museum has a very clear DNA. The museum wants to make things simple, personal, active and connect in all its roles. What we tried is to bring that attitude into the design.

Interaction designer, Wouter Middendorf elaborates, “The modular pages are practical, and with full-screen photos, they are also very visual. We expressed the layered nature of design by having titles, buttons, text and images slide over one another. The yellow highlights give the design a tension.”

Willem Woudenberg, founder and director of Brand Dialogue states, “We are very proud on this award for Fabrique, one of our group members. It illustrates the proof of our philosophy that bright design creates better accessibility and a larger public reach.”

Fabrique designed the new website together with technical partner Q42. The award will be handed over to the proud recipients on May 18 in New York.
