BMW has spawned X6 SUV in an all new avatar bragging revisions made on the outside and inside the cabin. The cosmetic touch ups rendered on the humongous SUV make it look better and confers a larger stance. Wheelbase has been reduced insignificantly by 2 mm to 1933 mm. Priced at Rs 1.15 crore BMW is a pricey beast that looks every bit a sumptuous SUV adorned by its butch styling. Rework done on the inside is evidently endearing, styling changes and use of premium materials makes the cabin appear lavish. BMW has rolled out the xDrive40d variant only and the M package is available as standard on new X6 SUV.
Outer stance is more manly all thanks to its larger size and aggressive styling. Bonnet is wide and the roof lines evident on the bonnet render it a strong appearance. Comprehensive changes have been made in the front, such as the all new head lights flank the redesigned front radiator grill. Fog lights in front are set slightly higher on the bumper, air vents with chrome garnishing look prominent. Faux skid plate is also fitted on the front bumper bringing out the assertive character.
Side profile gets 19 inch multiple-spoke alloy wheels, the strong beltline accentuates the overall side appeal. Body painted outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators and body matching outside door mirrors are equipped on either side. Rear comes with captivating tail lights, rectangular shaped dual tail pipes and revised bumper featuring black cladding.
Interiors have received an array of changes, cosmetic changes broadly. The all new leather wrapped steering wheel and door sills get M badge. Features aligned inside include gizmos like Kardon sound system, BMW’s iDrive connected multimedia system, heads up display, powered tail gate and reverse camera. Ample chrome work has been done inside that makes the cabin appear enticing. Seats have been revised offering a snugger ride experience while on the go, specially rear which allows to seat three adults comfortably. Keeping driver’s comfort in forefront, the vehicle gets knee pads, storage space is extravagant inside permitting to store ample stuff. Seats are covered with all black leather upholstery. Material used inside the cabin is premium and soft.
Mechanical power is generated by a high displacement 3.0 litre, triple turbo, six-cylinder diesel powertrain outputting top power of 381 Bhp and 75.45 kgm. The engine is linked to an eight speed steptronic sport automatic transmission. Along with this the SUV gets BMW’s xDrive all wheel drive system.
Performance yielded by this humongous SUV is impressive, the 100 kmph speed from stand still is achieved within 5.8 seconds. Top speed achieved by the new X6 is 240 kmph which is good but not very impressive.
BMW has stuffed a number of safety features inside ensuring the safety of occupants such as six airbags, stability control, traction control, dynamic stability control including dynamic traction control, cornering brake control, side impact protection, engine vehicle immobilizer, crash sensor and hill descent control are included.
