Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School wins the Tourism Education and Training award at the Australian Tourism Awards

New Delhi, February, 2014—Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School was honoured with the Australian Tourism award in the category of Tourism Education and Training.  Hosted by the National Tourism Alliance, the Australian Tourism Awards bring together the best of Australia’s tourism and hospitality providers, recognising those who excel within the industry. The 2013 awards were held on February 7th at Luna Park, Sydney with the HON. Andrew Robb AO MP, Federal Minister for Trade and Investment and HON. George Souris MP, NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events in attendance.

The School was nominated for the Australian Tourism Awards after winning the Gold award for Tourism Education and Training at the New South Wales Tourism Awards in November last year. Blue Mountains is a leading provider of hotel and resort management education in New South Wales and Australia with over 3000 graduates working in senior management positions around the world.

The curriculum at BMIHMS combines academic business management studies with practical learning within simulated hotel environments which facilitate student to learn the trade of the industry while pursuing their studies.  Over 75% of BMIHMS students are international, representing more than 50 nationalities allowing for a truly global experience.  India makes up 4% of the total student body at BMIHMS.

The Australia Tourism Awards recognizes a year’s dedication and effort to provide the best services, attractions and facilities to the 6.1 million people who visited Australia during 2013.  The award categories include attractions and accommodation but also education, tourism services and tourism marketing.
