Being the change: Kempinski Ambience Hotel trains and hires differently abled as hospitality professionals

New Delhi: Supporting the societywith change, Kempinski Ambience Hotel, Delhi joins hands with Noida Deaf Society to train and employ differently abled youths. The initiative aims to empower differently abled persons by offering them employment opportunities in various departments across Housekeeping, Front office and F & B.

Kempinski Ambience Hotel, Delhitruly believes in encouraging diversity and inclusion of equality in the workplace, for the advancement and professional growth of its people. As part of this initiative, youths from the Noida Deaf Society went through a special training program and were offered worthy jobs in back-end and front-end departments.

While we have curated a special training and module for the differently abled and aim to engage them in all the hospitality departments, we also continue to associate with Goonj, an NGO which works in 21 states across India focusing on disaster relief, community development and humanitarian. Most recently, we also initiated cleaning of the hotel surroundings in alignment with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.”

 

The hotel has curated a special training and employment module for the differently abled and aim to engage them in all the hospitality departments.Keeping in mind the visual capabilities of the deaf youth, the one-month long training module primarily focused on video presentations, demonstration of processes in each department by the trainer and the deaf trainees getting a practical experience of the training. The trainees were also certified by Kempinski Ambience Hotel post the completion of the training.

Six to seven percent out of 1.28 billion population in India is disabled and is expected to rise with time.  As per the Government guidelines, persons with disabilities possess equal opportunities, protection of rights and full participation. Through this active association with Noida Deaf Society, the hotel hopes to inspire people within and outside the organization. The hotel also pledges to introduce more initiatives in the future helping the differently abled people.
